Royalty | Princess Meghan Markle’s Engagement Ring

The Kardashians are officially kicked off the pedestal for American royalty! The usurper? The stunning Meghan Markle, who has stolen the heart of the world’s most eligible bachelor, Prince Harry!

Best known for her acting role as Rachel Zane on the hit TV show, “Suits”, Markle has hung up her character’s paralegal career for a historical future. After just a year and a half of quietly dating, the youngest son of the ever-iconic Princess Diana popped the question over a casual, private dinner.

And, while down on one knee, he presented her with a classic, three-stone diamond engagement ring made by the queen’s jeweler, Cleave and Co. The yellow gold band – Markle’s favorite, according to the Prince – is subtle beneath the center stone sourced by Harry himself during his time in Botswana. And, to add to the sentimentality, it is flanked by two beautiful stones from Princess Diana’s very own collection. It’s a simple yet meaningful piece that is bound to set jewelry trends for the upcoming years.

But the bride-to-be had quite the feminist fairytale life of her own. In addition to her successful acting career, the Los Angeles native has worked hard to fight stigmas regarding biracial families and people, as she was raised her Caucasian father and African American mother.

Plus, during her time at Northwestern University, where she studied theater and international studies, she supported herself with her calligraphy skills. Needless to say, her background in international studies has gotten her pretty far. But we highly doubt she’ll be writing her own wedding invites! She would go on to land acting roles in “CSI: Miami”, “General Hospital”, “Horrible Bosses”, and more before really staking her Hollywood claim in “Suits”.

She’s more than a rising Hollywood star though. Throughout her years, Markle has called herself “a global citizen” and dedicated her spare time to causes such as gender equality, the eradication of modern-day slavery, and clean-water campaigns as the UN’s Women Advocate for Political Participation and Leadership.

So, it’s fairly obvious that Markle will play a powerful role in her relationship and newfound platform in the realm of royalty. And now, we patiently await for May of 2018 to come around to we can see just how this jewel princess will evolve before our very eyes!
